Experience and approach

Before founding Savage Tax Advisory, I worked directly with more than 300 individuals on tax and financial planning matters. My experience includes individual and business taxation, partnerships, real estate, alternative assets, and retirement tax planning.

I founded this practice to lead with advisory. That means understanding your tax picture before a return is due, reviewing the plan as the year changes, and being available when a major decision needs to be made. Tax preparation is available separately to advisory clients so the planning and reporting remain connected.

Real estate is a significant part of my work. I advise clients who already own property as well as those evaluating a first acquisition. My role is to explain how the rules apply to your circumstances and help you make informed decisions before the transaction is complete.

I live in the Des Moines area with my wife and son, and I work with clients here in Iowa and across the country. When I'm not working with clients, you'll usually find me traveling with my family, planning our next National Park trip, or watching football or basketball.
